Future of Muslims In The Light Of Their Past

Prologue:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) established one united nation 1446 years ago, giving them one book, one Kaaba, one God and one mission: to live and let live in peace. This mission was meant to unify the believers under a single banner of faith and purpose. However, as time passed, the single nation of the Prophet (PBUH) was divided into various nations that often fought one another for material gains and worldly power. Today, in 2024 CE, there are about 50 Muslim nations recognized by the United Nations, along with over a dozen unrecognized Muslim territories. In the last 20 years alone, a dozen powerful Muslim nations were systematically destroyed by the enemies of Islam and it is expected that half a dozen more [ Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia etc] will face similar destruction in the next 30 years. Most of the remaining Muslim nations [ Albania, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, etc] are economically and politically weak, barely surviving and are irrelevant in the international wrestling ring.
The reason of the downfall of Muslim ummah:
The downfall of the Muslim ummah lies in their abandonment of the Prophet's teachings. Instead of using his guidance to strengthen their faith and build a just society, Muslims twisted his teachings to gain worldly power and support their sectarian divides. They are consumed by desires for personal comfort, luxurious lifestyles and fleeting pleasures. Their religion has been reduced to chasing beautiful women, building magnificent homes and adorning themselves with fashionable clothes. However, history has shown that all that rises eventually falls, except God Himself. The greed and moral decay among Muslims have led to their ruin and this decline appears unstoppable until the arrival of Jesus (AS). Acts such as conversions to Islam, building fashionable mosques, congregational prayers on Fridays or Eids or even individual salah will not change the bitter truth of the fast downfall of Muslims as a nation.
What an individual Muslim should do:
In these dire times, what should an individual Muslim do? A sincere Muslim must turn to the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and deeply study his times and teachings. This sincere effort will provide some peace of mind and a glimmer of hope. Such a Muslim must dissociate himself from sectarian divisions and avoid mullas who misguide in the name of religion. Instead, he should strive to live like the early followers of the Prophet, adopting their simplicity, sincerity and dedication. While this approach may save an individual from many personal problems, it will not alter the collective fate of the ummah. The destiny of the Muslim nation remains tied to its return to true faith and principles—a path that seems lost in the present era. Anyway, let's all wait for the arrival of Jesus and his opponent Ad-dajjal.
