The Parable of Train
Scene: A dimly lit train compartment with no windows or doors. The rhythmic sound of the train moving echoes through the walls. Javaid Akhtar and Mufti Javaid wake up, bewildered and confused.
Mufti Javaid: (rubbing his eyes) Where… where are we?
Javaid Akhtar: (stretching) On a train. Enjoy the ride.
Mufti Javaid: A train? But… I was sleeping in my house. How did we get here?
Javaid Akhtar: Don't ask. Just relax.
Mufti Javaid: (getting anxious) What do you mean, "don't ask"? Who put us here?
Javaid Akhtar: (shrugging) Nobody. We sleepwalked here ourselves.
Mufti Javaid: (looking around) There are no windows… no doors. We can’t see anything outside. Where is this train going?
Javaid Akhtar: (smiling) Nowhere. We only think it’s moving. But actually, it's not going anywhere. Use your common sense, dude.
Mufti Javaid: (frustrated) That makes no sense! If we’re on a train, it must have a destination. There must be someone who knows where we are going! Let's ask someone.
Javaid Akhtar: (laughs) Nobody knows. Stop worrying. Use your common sense—sleep, sing or play chess. That’s all we can do till we breathe our last.
(Mufti Javaid stares at Javaid Akhtar in disbelief. The train keeps moving or at least it feels that way. Finally, he plans to solve the mystery.)
==============
Moral: Javaid Akhtar and people like him are found everywhere. They behave like a pigeon that closes its eyes to avoid a cat, believing ignorance will keep them safe. A true genius asks the right questions, while a fool drifts through life without seeking facts or answers. The train is here the parable for our world.
