Don’t Chase Shadows—Build Your Reality
Films And Film Stars Are Not Forever.
Time is far more powerful than we realise, especially when we neither understand its past nor anticipate its future. Think of the great actors of Indian cinema—once worshipped, endlessly imitated and believed to be eternal. Yet time moved on, styles changed, faces changed and even the most devoted fans turned their attention elsewhere. This is the nature of the world: nothing here remains the same. So instead of losing yourself in blindly following actors and singers, invest your energy in something that truly lasts—your growth, your skills and your responsibilities towards your family. Build a life that stands firm even when trends fade. Seek what is constant, value your time and use it wisely for your own betterment and for those who depend on you.

History of indian cinema
Dadasaheb Govind Phalke [ 1870- 1944 ] is known as the father of Indian cinema . He was producer , director and screenwriter . His debut film, Raja Harishchandra, was the first Indian feature movie released in 1913 in Marathi . Ardeshir Irani released Alam Ara, the first Indian talkie, on 14 March 1931 . Mother India is a 1957 Indian epic drama film, directed by Mehboob Khan and starring Nargis, Raaj Kumar, Rajendra Kumar and Sunil Dutt.
Dilip Kumar (Muhammad Yusuf Khan) debuted in the 1940s and rose to fame in the 1950s and was the biggest Indian movie star of the time. He was a pioneer of method acting (Actors physically live like the characters they are playing in movies.), predating Hollywood method actors such as Marlon Brando. Much like Brando's influence on New Hollywood actors, Kumar inspired Indian actors, including Amitabh Bachchan, Naseeruddin Shah, Shah Rukh Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Gunga Jumna, is a 1961 Indian crime drama film, written and produced by Dilip Kumar.
In 1970's , the arrival of screenwriter duo Salim–Javed, consisting of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, revitalised the industry. They established the genre of gritty, violent, Bombay underworld crime films, with films such as Zanjeer (1973) and Deewaar (1975) .
The turning point came with Disco Dancer (1982) which was not only a blockbuster in India but was the biggest hit of the year in Russia upon its release in the country. Disco Dancer (1982) started the era of Disco in Indian cinema and saw the rise of the due of Mithun Chakraborty as the lead actor and Bappi Lahiri as the music director. This duo gave the highest number of hits together for the 80's decade of Indian mainstream movies. Thereafter, Yash Chopra's musical romance Chandni (1989), starring Sridevi was instrumental in rejuvenating the romantic musical genre .
Since the 1990s, the three biggest Bollywood movie stars have been the "Three Khans": Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan. Combined, they starred in the top ten highest-grossing Bollywood films. The three Khans have had successful careers since the late 1980s .
The 2000s and 2010s also saw the rise of a new generation of popular actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Sushant Singh Rajput, Arjun Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur and Tiger Shroff, as well as actresses like Vidya Balan, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Kangana Ranaut, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha, Jacqueline Fernandez, Shraddha Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, with Balan and Ranaut gaining wide recognition for successful female-centric films such as The Dirty Picture (2011), Kahaani (2012), Queen (2014), Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015) and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019). Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji are among the few working actresses from the 2000s and late 1990s who successfully completed more than 20 years in the industry.
More than 1000 production organisations operate in the Indian film industry, but few are successful. AVM Productions is the oldest surviving studio in India. Other major production houses include Yash Raj Films, T-series, SUN Pictures, Red Chillies Entertainment, Dharma Productions, Eros International, Ajay Devgn FFilms, Balaji Motion Pictures, UTV Motion Pictures, Raaj Kamal Films International, Hombale Films, Aashirvad Cinemas, Wunderbar Films, Hari Om Entertainment and Geetha Arts.
India produces more than 1800 movies annually and generates over two billion US dollars as revenue . Indian movies are made in various languages— Hindi , Tamil , Telugu , Malyalam , Kannada , Bengali , Marathi , Punjabi , Bhojpuri .
From 2014 to 2016, Hindi cinema pivoted toward gritty realism, socially-conscious dramas, and the rise of the biopic, moving away from pure escapism to tackle themes like women’s empowerment, small-town struggles, and national heroism. This era was defined by powerhouse performances from Aamir Khan (notably in Dangal and PK), Alia Bhatt (in Udta Punjab and Highway), and Ranveer Singh (in Bajirao Mastani), alongside critical acclaim for versatile actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vicky Kaushal. Also, spreading RSS ideology.

Evolution of films
1] Silent films (1890s–1920s) / Feature film : Charlie Chaplin type films
2] Talkies (1930s–mid-1940s)/ Sound films : Talkies and talking pictures are informal terms for films incorporating synchronized audible dialogue rather than readable text plates. The terms were widely used in the late 1920s and early 1930s to distinguish sound films from silent films . Ardeshir Irani released Alam Ara, the first Indian talkie, on 14 March 1931
3] Golden Age (late 1940s–1960s): [Dilip Kumar , Negis etc ]
4] 1970s–present : The arrival of screenwriter duo Salim–Javed, consisting of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, revitalised the industry. They established the genre of gritty, violent, Bombay underworld crime films, with films such as Zanjeer (1973) and Deewaar (1975) . Bollywood" was coined in the 70s .
[[ Rajesh Khanna , Amitabh Bachchan , Dharmindra, Mithunda etc ]
Note: Early feature movies did not have synchronized sound. These films, produced primarily before the late 1920s, are known as silent films. They relied on visual storytelling, with actors using exaggerated body language and facial expressions, and used intertitles (text cards) to convey dialogue and key narrative points.
Now students do courses like Film Studies and Media Studies like they study physics, Maths and other subjects.

Lumière Brothers
The evolution of cinema began in France in the late 19th century, when pioneers like Auguste Lumière and Louis Lumière invented the Cinématographe and held the first public film screening in 1895, marking the birth of motion pictures. Early films were short and silent, but cinema quickly spread across Europe and to United States, where it developed into a major industry. By the early 20th century, filmmakers like Georges Méliès introduced storytelling and special effects, transforming film into an art form. The introduction of sound in the 1920s, colour in the 1930s, and digital technology in recent decades further globalised cinema, making it one of the most influential forms of entertainment and cultural expression worldwide.
