Summary Of Life On Earth
God has His own style. He makes kings cry and beggars smile whenever He wills.
To understand the ways of God, one must study the biography of Hazrat Umar.
Hazrat Umar ibn al-Khattab ruled as the second Rashidun Caliph from August 634 to November 644 CE. He conquered 14 countries — Iraq, Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and southwestern Pakistan. He is renowned for his just and compassionate leadership. He was known for his dedication to the well-being of his people, often going out at night to assess their needs and ensure their safety. He said once, ''If a mule were to fall on the banks of the Euphrates, I would be afraid that God would ask me why I did not build a road for it''. One would expect him to be the happiest man after doing so much for God. But God tested him instead.
During his rule, the Plague of Amwas broke out in 638–639 CE (17–18 AH) in Syria, particularly affecting the Muslim army camp at Amwas. It is estimated to have killed up to 25,000 Muslim soldiers and their beloved relatives. Some of the regions under his rule were struck by terrible drought and famine. He himself was martyred mercilessly while offering salah in a masjid.
